2022-23 Staff Performance Evaluations (SPA)

Student Life Career Staff:

The performance evaluation period for the 2022-23 year is here! The on-line Performance Appraisal tool is currently open for Policy Covered staff (non-union); you may begin the process by going to the Student Life Business Office website, Human Resources tab.  If you find you are not able to access this year’s evaluation in the SPA tool, it most likely your last evaluation has not been completely closed out.  Please let me and your supervisor know if you can’t access your evaluation.

Non-Represented (Policy Covered)

  • May 1st - April 30th
  • APRIL 30th - Self-appraisals due (confirm with your supervisor)
  • June 9th  - Evaluations due - delivered to employee and signed by supervisor.

Represented (CX, K6, SX, TX)

  • July 1st - June 30th
  • June 30th - Self-appraisals due (confirm with your supervisor)
  • July 31st - Evaluations due - delivered to employee and signed by supervisor.

EMPLOYEES:

  • You may begin and are encouraged to write a detailed self-appraisal to help your supervisor reflect upon your work.
  • Click the FINALIZE button to complete the self-appraisal even if you chose not to provide a self-appraisal.

SUPERVISORS:

  • Schedule time and meet with your individual staff members and deliver the evaluation.

  • Review campus concepts for ongoing conversations: Manager-Notes
  • Supervisors will need to move the appraisal from Post Review to Discussion and from Discussion to Prep for Signature.  Post Review to Discussion will send a notification to your employee.
  • NEW for 2023 – Assigned Training Verification. Effective March 2, all appraisals initiated will require supervisors to review employee’s training compliance and verify status before moving appraisal to HR Review. This includes all appraisals initiated for the 22/23 appraisal cycle.  Supervisors can check the completion status for assigned training of their employees by going to the UC Learning Center and clicking on “My Team” and “Manager Dashboard” at the top left.
